Fashion tips for body shapes




People come in different shapes and sizes, each possessing different attributes, flaws and assets. Dressing according to your body shape and type cannot be over emphasized. A lot of authors have talked about a lot of body shapes, but basically we have 4 body shapes, the others are usually a combination or an offshoot of the four. The 4 main body shapes are;
  • Pear shape
  • Apple shape
  • Hour glass and
  • Rectangular/ tube shape.  
PEAR SHAPE
A pear shaped beauty normally has a wider torso, a well defined waist line, a smaller bust and narrower shoulder.
In dressing, a pear shaped woman should work towards balancing out the curvy bottom and this can be achieved by wearing tops with embellished collars, drawing attention to your top part with a plunging neckline or a chunky jewelry.
Avoid pencil skirts especially tight ones because they will only emphasize your heavy hips and behind.

APPLE SHAPE
An apple shaped woman tends to carry her weight around her midsection without a well defined waist. She may possess great boobs and legs and in dressing up, the main aim is to show off these great assets.
 Empire waist tops creates the illusion of a waistline. Go for low necklines to draw attention off your mid section, longer tops also camouflage the heavy mid area. Wear jeans with larger waist bands to hold in your tummy. You can also work embellished rear pockets because they add volume to your behind. Structured jackets are your best friends.

HOUR GLASS
Hour glass beauties possess a fuller bust and bottom to contrast with a small waist. This is the figure most women (including mee) crave for.
The best advice for an hour glass figure is not to hide her figures in baggy clothing. Wrap dresses, waist clinching belts and wide leg jeans work wonders.

RECTANGLE/TUBE   
A rectangle/tube shaped figure is fairly straight up and down although some might possess a little fuller bust. 
In dressing, she should create an illusion of curves, this can be achieved by wearing structured jackets clinched in with a belt and high necked tops for those that are busty. wide flared trousers, off shoulder tops and pleated skirts all create the illusion of  curves.
